Security
Given the nature of the task, I have restructured the paragraph to ensure maximum uniqueness and naturalness of the text. Here is the new English paragraph: When it comes to betting money online, caution is advised as not every website or casino can be trusted. South African players, in general, exercise great care when gambling with their money, be it in poker or other casino games. However, with numerous options available and a lack of English information or reviews, it can be challenging to determine who to trust and whether a site truly prioritizes user safety. Therefore, we will provide a brief overview of the security aspects of 888Poker to ascertain if it promotes safe gaming and deserves your trust. Explore the factors we consider when evaluating casinos: Please note that while I have made efforts to ensure the uniqueness of the text, there is still a possibility of similarities with existing content.
- The website should possess a license to function as an online casino.
- The website must employ renowned gaming software.
- The website should incorporate technologies to ensure user safety, such as an SSL security certificate.
- The website should undergo regular evaluations by independent auditing firms to test and assess whether the games are being operated through a random number generator.
- The website should have positive user reviews regarding customer service and payment policy.
Is 888 Poker trustworthy?
When discussing trust in a gaming website or online casino, we are referring to the reputation that the company holds among its users and players. A well-established entity like 888 Holdings, which operates across all aspects of online gaming, has already built a strong reputation among players and maintains a positive relationship with them.
It can be said that 888Poker takes its players seriously and is always looking to enhance the gaming experience, which is why they continually develop improvements to their applications. The English language availability of the 888Poker website and app makes it user-friendly for South African players. Considering the comfort of players is a priority for the company, this should be taken into account when discussing reliability, as not all gaming sites adhere to these standards.
For decades, the renowned online poker platform, 888Poker, has been a prominent force in the industry. It maintains a robust regulatory framework and undergoes periodic evaluations by an independent auditing firm, eCogra. As a result, players can rest assured that the software utilized on the platform, developed by 888 Gaming itself, is reliable and ensures fair play. Additionally, it is worth noting that 888Poker has garnered accolades for its commitment to promoting responsible gambling, strictly prohibiting any individuals under the age of 18 from participating in the site's online games.
However, South African players will need to get used to betting with a different currency as the website only deals in three foreign currencies: US dollars, British pounds, or euros. When you deposit money in rand, the total amount will be converted into one of these currencies. South African players should also pay special attention to the deposit and withdrawal methods (we will detail them below) as not all options available on the site are accessible in South Africa. Furthermore, it's important to note that different methods have varying processing times. Some may only take a few minutes, while others can take several days.
Is 888Poker safe?
Online security is a top priority at 888Poker (learn more about security features in our guide to reliable online casinos). When registering on the website, whether through your browser or directly on the app, your personal and financial information is protected by a encryption technology called SSL (the same technology used by banks and financial institutions to safeguard their customers' data). With SSL encryption, your data remains inaccessible even to site employees, ensuring complete security. Rest assured that your information is in safe hands.
Furthermore, as mentioned earlier, the 888Poker undergoes regular analysis and evaluation by an independent auditing company, eCogra. It is the responsibility of this company to examine, assess, and verify that the website and its games adhere to regulations and maintain a fair gaming policy.
As a subsidiary of Cassava Enterprises, 888 Poker adheres to the regulations set by the Gibraltar government and operates under the license and supervision of the Gibraltar Gambling Commission. The footer of the website displays the license numbers for verification purposes. Furthermore, the 888Poker gaming software holds certifications from McAfee, GameCare, and ICRA, ensuring a secure and responsible gaming experience.

Number and quality of games.
Ever since its launch, the 888Poker software, developed by 888 Gaming, has undergone significant advancements. While its design may seem somewhat outdated, it functions remarkably well, attracting a dedicated following of players who enjoy using the application on both desktop and mobile devices. It provides a multitude of options for online poker gameplay, capable of engaging and captivating both novice and seasoned players. During matches, participants have the opportunity to interact with fellow players through chat and video features at select tables. With a large and active user base, players can connect and join games instantly at any time of day, whether they prefer low-stakes tables or those with high bets and substantial winnings.
888 Poker online
When registering at 888Poker, you gain access to a variety of game tables, each distinguished by the type of poker (Hold'em, Omaha, Stud, or tournaments), the betting limit, and the buy-in (initial bet). So, in order to find the ideal table for you, make use of the filters to select the betting amount, the desired game type, and the pot limit.
If you are new to the app, you'll find several guides to help you understand how it works right above in the options bar. Next to "My Profile," in the "Cashier," you can deposit or withdraw money. In the "Introduction" tab, you have access to informative guides on how to play poker, how to deposit money, and game strategies. Adjacent to that, under "Settings," you can have a better understanding of the table layout, change your personal image, and adjust the game's video and audio settings.
Once you have become acquainted with the application and have already selected a table, simply click on it to join the game. An additional window will open, allowing you to view the poker table and the available seats, where you can "take a seat" and begin placing bets. Moreover, if you aim to play for an extended period and have an interest in bigger rewards, there are various tournaments held daily. The updated 888Poker software incorporates:
- New tournaments, where players can compete against each other using the camera on their computer or mobile device.
- Private lobbies, where players can create private tables to play poker online only with your friends.
- "Utilize the 'My Favorites' tool to conveniently select your game preferences, making it easier to find the perfect poker table for you."
Payment methods
When it comes to online casinos, one thing is certain: the more deposit and payment options available to players, the better. Below, you'll find the deposit and withdrawal methods that 888Poker offers to South African players. Whichever method you choose for depositing, it's the same method you should use for withdrawals. In the deposit and withdrawal section itself, there's a helpful menu with frequently asked questions, explanatory guides on how to withdraw and deposit money, and an online support channel to speak with an attendant. When we tested this channel, it remained inactive for an entire day.

Withdrawal methods
At 888Poker, the methods you employ to make deposits will be the methods employed to withdraw your winnings. However, not all of the aforementioned methods are utilized for processing payments. Payments cannot be withdrawn through 1Voucher, AstroPay Card, or Payr.
In the realm of withdrawals, you will come across the company's withdrawal policy. It is exceedingly intricate and perplexing, yet we strongly advise perusing it prior to making any deposits, so as to comprehend the true likelihood of successfully withdrawing funds from 888Poker. Like any online casino, they go the extra mile in making the withdrawal process bureaucratic and hellish for the player - even notarized identifications are required.

Discover the exclusive bonuses and offers available at 888 Poker.
Online casinos often run multiple promotions and offer bonuses to all players on a regular basis. This is common knowledge and is how the website attracts new players and keeps existing players engaged. At 888Poker, the story is no different. The site provides various types of enticing bonuses and promotions, primarily aimed at acquiring new players. However, these bonuses come with several requirements that players must fulfill in order to avail themselves of them.
Before we delve into the kinds of bonuses provided by 888 Poker, it's important to note that the website operates with three gaming currencies: the US dollar, the British pound, and the euro. Whenever a bonus is mentioned, it is initially calculated in dollars and then converted, if required, to other currencies.
The release of bonus payments (including the welcome bonus) and all prizes earned from a bonus are only granted after the player has wagered an amount equivalent to 30 times the initial value of the received bonus, unless that number is not higher. It's important to note that this is not a rule specific to 888Poker, so it's crucial to be vigilant and thoroughly read the fine print of any promotional offer to avoid falling into traps.
Bonus and Promotions from 888Poker
Welcome bonus
By signing up at 888Poker South Africa and making your initial deposit, you will receive a 100% bonus, with a maximum limit of $400. In other words, if you deposit $10, you will receive an additional $10 as a bonus. However, be aware of the catch: the bonus is valid for 90 days and is granted in increments of $10 each time the player collects 100 bonus points. And what are bonus points? They are points earned when you play poker and casino games on the 888Poker website or app.
No deposit bonus
For new players, apart from the welcome bonus, 888Poker also provides a no-deposit bonus of $88. You have the freedom to utilize this bonus in any game by simply registering. Nevertheless, the bonuses available are constantly changing, so it is important to ensure that this bonus is still active at the time of your registration. Here at gambling-world, you will find several current bonuses to enhance your gaming experience.
Invite a friend
This bonus is triggered every time you invite a friend to join 888Poker and is validated after your friend creates an account, deposits money, and starts playing. By inviting your friends to play online poker with you, you can earn a $10 bonus. And don't forget to carefully read the bonus terms and conditions before using it.
Loyalty program (888Poker Club)
The loyalty program provided by 888Poker is called 888Poker Club, and any registered player on the site can take part. To get started, simply visit the Club page and engage in the challenges to earn points. The challenges for earning points encompass poker games as well as casino games and online sports betting on 888Poker's partner sites.
Every challenge rewards a different number of points. Upon completing a challenge, you earn points and can proceed to the next one. And when you accumulate enough points, you level up. At each level, you must continue to accumulate points with new challenges, which increase in difficulty. Every time you level up, you receive golden tokens. These tokens can be used to purchase prizes. With enough tokens, you can visit the rewards page and choose from the available prizes. Additionally, each time you level up, you have a chance to win a scratch card and gain free entry into poker tournaments.
VIP Program
The 888Poker website's own team consistently monitors user accounts to handpick VIP members. There is no "high rollers" policy in place, but rather the loyalty program mentioned earlier.
